During India's T20 World Cup 2024 victory lap at Wankhede Stadium, all-rounder Hardik Pandya found himself channeling his inner Thor, much to the amusement of Jasprit Bumrah. Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium was flooded with patriotic emotion as India celebrated their second T20 World Cup triumph on July 4.
Following a victory parade along Marine Drive, the BCCI organised a special felicitation ceremony for the team. The event saw cricket stars like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Pandya, and Bumrah addressing an enthusiastic crowd of 33,000 fans.
As the Men in Blue took a victory lap around the stadium, waving the Indian flag and joining fans in singing "Vande Mataram," an unexpected moment occurred. Pandya, walking in the front, was encouraging the crowd with his arms outstretched. That is when a T-shirt flew his way from the stands, landing perfectly in his right hand. The all-rounder smoothly caught the garment before casually dropping it. Bumrah, who was trailing just behind Pandya, burst into laughter, watching the bizarre incident.

The right-arm quick was named Player of the Tournament for his outstanding performance (15 wickets at an average of 8.26). During the felicitation ceremony, he addressed retirement rumors head-on. Bumrah also reflected on the significance of the victory and his journey
"My retirement is far far away, I've just started. It feels amazing. This ground is amazing in my life. I came as a U19 kid. I have never seen anything like it. To experience this and the emotions after the game, I have never experienced it,” Bumrah said.
