A delivery that India required in the World Cup final in November last year was what was served up to Travis Head in the last session of Day 1 of the opening Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Head, who was looking set with a couple of boundaries previously, was undone by a corker of delivery with Australia at a score of 31 for 4.

One of the debutants for India, Harshit Rana, came up with the goods as he made a full-off good-length delivery that deviated viciously off the Perth track which had Head stuck on the backfoot. The ball beat the outside edge to crash into the outside portion of the off-stump, leaving the bails flying and Harshit overjoyed with what he could conjure. Interestingly, Rana adjusted his length to pitch the ball slightly fuller than usual to outclass Head, who was left baffled after getting dismissed.

It was a debut wicket to savour for Rana, and he was visibly pumped as his teammates surrounded him to congratulate the passionate quick.

Match hangs in the balance after India get shot out for 150

Earlier today, India did not capitalize on their decision to bat first. KL Rahul dug in for a 74-ball knock but was dismissed controversially. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Devdutt Padikkal did not contribute to the scoreboard. It was courtesy of Rishabh Pant and Nitish Kumar's knocks that India managed to end up with 150 on the board.

India came out all guns blazing with the ball. Jasprit Bumrah's magical six-over spell saw him scalp three Australian batters. At the time of writing, Australia have lost half their side with Mitchell Marsh being the latest to fall.
