Jitesh Sharma played a small but impactful cameo in his maiden innings with the bat for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). The Rajat Patidar-led side is taking on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the iconic MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Friday, March 28 in the ongoing IPL 2025.

The Vidarbha wicketkeeper came out to bat at No. 6 in the 16th over after Liam Livingstone was dismissed by Noor Ahmad. He hit a six off his second delivery against the Afghanistan spinner. Jitesh finished the 17th over by hitting Matheesha Pathirana for a boundary. However, the former could not cash in on his explosive start, as he was dismissed by a slower delivery from Khaleel Ahmed in the following over. Jitesh scored 12 off six deliveries.

As he was taking the long walk back to the pavilion, the DJ decided to play the 'Dosa, Idli, Sambar, Chutney' song, which released in 2022, but has gained massive popularity of late, and several memes are being made using the hook verse of late.

For the unversed, Jitesh had taken a brutal dig at the CSK fans prior to the match when he was asked about what they feel about the people of Chennai. While everyone had good things to say, Jitesh seemingly mocked the people by singing the aforementioned song with a South Indian accent.

Jitesh faced backlash after the video went viral on social media. Many fans believed that he should not have insulted the people in an accent which is unfamiliar to him.

Rachin Ravindra keeps CSK hanging

RCB finished on 196/7 after being asked to bat first. Rajat Patidar starred with the bat by scoring 51 off 32 balls. Meanwhile, Noor Ahmad bagged a three-for and was presented with the Purple Cap during the mid-innings break.

CSK are in a spot of bother in their run-chase, having lost their first four wickets inside the first 10 overs. The onus will be on the in-form Rachin Ravindra to guide his team home from the precarious position. However, he will need the fellow batters to offer him support.
