[WATCH] IPL 2025: Prabhsimran Singh's audacious switch hit off Sunil Narine results in maximum
PBKS scored 201 runs against KKR in IPL 2025.
Punjab Kings (PBKS) batters were incredible against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the IPL 2025. The ongoing match at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata, saw Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh's effortless hitting against the home team. They made an opening partnership of 120 runs before Arya fell prey to Andre Russell's brilliant delivery. He played a solid knock of 35-ball 69 runs, hitting eight boundaries and four sixes.
However, while the players were forming their partnerships, Prabhsimran attacked KKR's veteran spin wizard Sunil Narine in the 11th over. He hit a switch hit against the bowler by understanding his variations, making the shot look 'perfect'. He didn't stop there. He hit another six on a no-ball. The right-handed batter was later dismissed by Vaibhav Arora while batting on 83 runs. He hit six boundaries and six sixes in his innings.

PBKS put up 201 runs on the board, which the home team must chase to stay alive in the tournament. Shreyas Iyer stayed till the end of the first innings but could only play 16 balls and hit 25 runs, including one boundary and one six. The wickets came at regular intervals, as KKR conceded just 41 runs in 34 balls. They managed to stop the batters from scoring runs after the openers were dismissed.
Notably, this is a must-win game for KKR as they are on the seventh position on the points table with just three wins out of eight matches. Furthermore, the game has reached a point where all the matches are crucial for the teams not in the top five positions. Hence, winning all the games is the only solution for KKR to qualify for the playoffs. Meanwhile, PBKS are in a safe place as they have to win just three matches to qualify for the playoffs.
The franchise still has six games to go in the tournament and as a result, it will be interesting to see whether KKR would be able to chase the score or put their qualification in danger.
