Watch: Kuldeep Yadav dismisses Rachin Ravindra, Kane Williamson in consecutive overs

Kuldeep Yadav gave India two crucial wickets in the 2025 Champions Trophy final against New Zealand on Sunday, March 9, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. He dismissed in-form batters Rachin Ravindra and Kane Williamson, who had scored centuries in the semi-finals against South Africa on Wednesday.

The Kiwis got off to a flying start after Mitchell Santner won the toss and opted to bat first on Sunday. Varun Chakaravarthy dismissed Will Young, breaking a blistering 57-run opening partnership off 47 balls. However, Ravindra, who was dropped twice, hit a flurry of boundaries to keep the scoreboard ticking.

India captain Rohit Sharma introduced Kuldeep into the attack in the 11th over. The left-arm spinner struck off his first delivery as he bowled Ravindra with a googly on the middle stump. The Kiwi batter failed to read the googly as he was stuck on the back foot. The ball sneaked past the inside edge and kissed the pad on its way to disturb the stumps. Kuldeep was delighted, and so were his teammates, as they knew the importance of the wicket. Meanwhile, Ravindra looked quite dejected as he knew he could have scored much more than his 37 off 29 balls.

Kane Williamson's soft dismissal

In the following over, Kuldeep sent Williamson packing with a full delivery on the middle stump. The right-handed batter tried to push it for a single off the front foot but failed to keep it down. Kuldeep took the simplest of return catches as New Zealand went from 57/0 to 75/3.
