Watch: Mohammed Siraj bows down to Jasprit Bumrah in heart warming gesture after MI's win over RCB
Five-time champions MI who had a shaky start to IPL 2024, revived their campaign as they registered their second win of the season, defeating the RCB by seven wickets.
Five-time champions Mumbai Indians who after having a shaky start in the ongoing IPL 2024 (Indian Premier League), revived their campaign as they registered their second win of the season, defeating the Royal Challengers Bengaluru by seven wickets. While the Mumbai batters played a crucial role, it was their premier fast bowler, Jasprit Bumrah, who stole the limelight with a sensational five-wicket haul.
Bumrah's masterclass with the ball was nothing short of awe-inspiring. He tore through the RCB batting lineup, dismissing the likes of Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis, Mahipal Lomror, Saurav Chauhan and Vijaykumar Vyshak. The pacer's ability to extract bounce and movement, coupled with his impeccable control, left the RCB batters puzzled.
Jasprit Bumrah's exceptional performance not only helped MI restrict RCB to a manageable total of 196/8 but also earned him the Player of the Match award. However, it was the moment that followed after the match that truly showed the spirit of the game. As the players lined up for the customary handshakes, RCB's Mohammed Siraj, Bumrah's fellow Indian teammate, approached him and bowed down in a gesture of respect and admiration. Bumrah, visibly surprised by the gesture, took a step back before the two embraced.

Preparation is always the key - Jasprit Bumrah
Mumbai Indians' pacer Jasprit Bumrah seemed quite pleased with the result of the game. He also cheekily pointed out that he never intended to claim a five-wicket haul as the wicket was sticky in nature. Hence he just wanted to contribute as much as possible to his team's cause.
"Very happy with the outcome. I will never say I wanted to take a five-for. The wicket was sticky and I am very happy with the contribution. In this format, it is very harsh for the bowlers. I try to not be a one-trick pony, I have worked on this early in my career," Bunrah said during the presentation after the match.

"Preparation is always the key. Important to keep pushing yourself before a game. It is not a one-trick pony. You don't always have to bowl a yorker, sometimes you bowl a yorker, short ball. There is no ego in this format. You can bowl 145, but sometimes it is important to bowl slower balls," the fiery pacer concluded.
In the aftermath of the recently concluded IPL 2024 clash, with only one win in six matches, RCB find themselves in a tricky spot, staring at an early exit from the tournament. On the other hand, Mumbai Indians have brought themselves back into the tournament, climbing to the seventh spot on the table with two wins in five matches.
