Watch: MS Dhoni attends birthday celebration of gym partner
Dhoni recently said he just wants to enjoy the game for next few years.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni was retained by Chennai Super Kings ahead of the Indian Premier League 2025 mega auction. The veteran will be seen donning the yellow jersey once again, but as an uncapped player. The new mandated rule by BCCI was leveraged by CSK as Dhoni has not played an international game for five years now and he fits the bill to feature as uncapped player and was paid INR 4 crore.
Just as the former India captain’s celebrated franchise prepares for the auction, the veteran was recently spotted celebrating the birthday of his gym mate in Ranchi. The wicketkeeper-batter stood beside him as he cut the cake and Dhoni obliged by having a chunk of it. The video of the same was uploaded on the concerned person’s Instagram account.

"I just want to enjoy whatever last few years of cricket I'm able to play. Like how during our childhood we used to go out and play at 4[pm], just enjoying the game. But when you play professional sport it becomes difficult to enjoy the game just like a game. So what I want to do is, there are emotions and commitments, but I want to enjoy the game for the next few years,” said Dhoni.
