Watch: Rashid Khan launches flamboyant helicopter shot against Welsh Fire in The Hundred 2024
Few players master the helicopter shot due to its challenging implementation, yet the Afghan leg-spinner has integrated it into his batting lexicon over the past few years.
Yet again, spectators were left enthralled by the unparalleled brilliance of Afghan leg-spinner, Rashid Khan, who astounded everyone with an extraordinary helicopter shot during Match 14 of The Hundred 2024 against the Welsh Fire on August 3, 2024.
With 31 runs required from 18 balls and Rashid Khan batting at a run-a-ball score of four, he masterfully dispatched a full delivery wide of the off-stump by Luke Wells for a remarkable wristy six. This extraordinary shot, one that few could even hope to make solid contact with, narrowly cleared Tom Kohler-Cadmore at wide long-off, whose valiant jumping effort proved insufficient.
Watch the video below:
Despite this astonishing shot, Rashid was run out shortly after a miscommunication with his batting partner, ending his innings at 13 off eight balls. Consequently, the Rockets fell short, ultimately losing by four runs.

Enchanting wrist-work from Rashid propels searing delivery by Rauf to the fine-leg fence
It was not the first instance in the match where Rashid showcased his authoritative wristwork. On just his second delivery of the innings, having already positioned himself on the off-stump and leaving the other two poles exposed, Rashid deftly redirected a fiery delivery from Pakistani pacer, Haris Rauf, sending it soaring over the short fine-leg fielder for a one-bounce boundary.
However, it was Rauf who had the last laugh, successfully defending nine runs in the last set (five balls), securing the Fire's second victory of the campaign. This outcome mirrored the Rockets' record, with both teams having two wins and as many losses in their four matches played so far.
