A video of former Pakistani legend, Shoaib Akhtar, offering words of extending motivational remarks on Indian southpaw, Abhishek Sharma, has been doing the rounds on social media. Akhtar shared a snippet in which he was mainly lavish in commending Abhishek's talent and batting prowess. He ended up wishing the 24-year-old budding player the best for the future.

Popular as Rawalpindi Express, Akhtar also gave a good luck to the Punjab batter to break many batting records with his breathtaking knocks, like he did with his recently century against England in the fifth T20I at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.

"People like this lad [pats Abhishek on his left shoulder], he got a hundred [referring to Abhishek's recent 135-run blitz against England]. '[Telling Abhishek] I watched your innings by the way'. It was fantastic, amazing. I gave him advice, don't leave his strength and become up friends with people who are better than you, and [a] great life ahead for this talented guy. I wish him best of luck," shared Akhtar.

"'[Telling Abhishek] And Abhishek, yaar, aage ja aur tune saare record todne hai haan (buddy, keep prospering and you have to break every record going forward, okay?)? Be good'. He's a rising star for India, I'm telling you. Keep watching him. Take care," concluded Akhtar.

Notably, Akhtar is currently in Dubai occupied with duties in relation to the ongoing Champions Trophy 2025. There are high chances that Abhishek is also in Dubai to support the side from the stands. Notably, he is yet to make his 50-over debut despite almost solidifying his place as T20 opener.

The left-handed batter set the cricket fraternity abuzz with his blistering 54-ball knock in the final T20I of the series against England at the Wankhede Stadium earlier this month. In the process, he shattered multiple records - registering the highest individual score for an Indian batter in T20Is and racking up the most sixes by an Indian in a T20I innings, to name a few.
