Star Afghanistan spinner, Rashid Khan, has shared his thoughts and expressed how impressed he is with Shubman Gill, the captain of Gujarat Titans. He also predicted a bright cricketing future for the ace Indian batter. Notably, IPL 2025 is Gill's fourth season with the Titans and he has consistently performed for the franchise. He was appointed as the captain after Hardik Pandya was traded to Mumbai Indians last year.
"Shubman, has a very big and bright future as a leader and not only as a batter. The way he thinks and the immense understanding he has of the game, it's commendable," Rashid told Star Sports.
"He's not the types to come under pressure and forget his plans. I think he'll be a big leader with the way he manages the team, bowlers, and environment; he really has great qualities of a leader. The IPL has more pressure than that during the World Cup. The tournament presents a wonderful opportunity for the players and Gill to really come to the party during crunch moments," he added.

Meanwhile, Rashid and Gill's teammate Sai Sudharsan also opened up about the time spent with skipper Gill. The 23-year-old stated that he often seeks Gill's advice on batting and has grown significantly as a player by watching him play.
"I’ve grown a lot watching him in these 3 years. Whatever doubts I had, whatever you know. If I have a difficulty in the nets or if I have a difficulty facing somebody, I would definitely love to have a conversation with him on what he feels or what I can do better," Sudharsan told Star Sports.
"So, I think I’ve grown a lot because of him and I’ve grown a lot watching him play . Even if I have some doubts if I have a bad session and after that when he comes to bat, I will watch him for some time so that I can get that confidence from him, We’ve shared a lot of memories on field as well," he added.
Speaking of their performance in IPL 2025, GT have lost only two games out of seven and currently sit at the top of the points table ahead of their clash against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens on Monday, April 21. They have a prime opportunity of extending their dominance this season, as Gill is set to lead his side against his former team.
