The first Test of the three-match series between India and New Zealand was played at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Not only is cricket taken seriously by cricketers in India, it's the fans who invest their time and energy as well. Furthermore, it's not just deities which people idolize, several high-profile players are revered too. A recent instance pertaining to the same was accounted post Day 4 of the first Test between India and New Zealand, which was being played at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
An avid fan who had cycled all the way from his hometown, Lucknow, to Bengaluru especially for meeting ace Indian batter, Virat Kohli, shared his story. Vinay Kumar had the Indian tricolour erected at the back of his seat and had worn a white jacket which had Kohli's pictures on it as well a banner which had a collage of Kohli.
Looking a tad bit dejected on not getting the opportunity to meet Kohli despite even making his way to the team hotel, he shared since when he was trying to meet Kohli. He also shared his unsuccessful attempt of spending time with the Indian superstar when he had visited Kohli's residence in Mumbai from Lucknow by foot.

"My name is Vinay Kumar and I have come from Lucknow on a cycle. I have come to meet Virat sir from Lucknow to Bengaluru. I had left from Lucknow on 29th August sir, 29th August, 2024. I haven't been able to meet him till now. I had gone to the hotel today, but was unsuccessful in meeting Kohli there," stated Kumar in an exclusive interview with SportsInfo, a product of CricTracker.
"I have been trying to meet Kohli since a long time now. It's been around eight months now. I had travelled from Lucknow to Mumbai by foot to Kohli's residence, but was not able to meet him," added the fan.

In the same video, he also mentioned that the next expedition he has planned is to visit Pune in the same manner.
