India defeated mighty South Africans by seven runs in the final of the T20 World Cup 2024 at Barbados, thus ending a decade of near-misses in ICC tournaments. Among the many visuals that have become etched in the memories of Indian fans is Rohit Sharma's strut to collect the trophy at the presentation ceremony. Notably, Rohit's walking style was inspired by WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair who used to approach the wrestling ring in the same manner.

Flair, in a recent tweet, shared videos of Rohit's walk and himself demonstrating the same. "The Worldwide Sensation! WOOOOO!" the former WWE wrestler captioned the post.

Notably, this is not the first time the WWE veteran has tweeted about Rohit's strut. On June 30, a day after the final, Flair posted the video of Rohit approaching the stage to receive the trophy. ".@ImRo45 Taking A Page Out Of My Playbook! WOOOOO!" Flair captioned the post.

Indian team to depart from Barbados on Tuesday

The Indian team is stranded in Barbados after the final due to Cyclone Beryl which compelled the local authorities to close down the airport for safety reasons. With the weather conditions improving thereafter, it has been reported that the team will depart today at 6pm Barbados time and reach New Delhi at 7.45pm local time on Wednesday, July 3. The winning contingent is expected to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and it is probably the sole reason why they are landing up in the capital.

The next assignment for Team India is the tour of Zimbabwe for a five-match T20I series, starting from July 6. Most of the members of the T20 World Cup squad have been rested for this tour with several youngsters making the cut.
