MS Dhoni is grabbing the limelight for all the right reasons in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2024. The latest edition would potentially be the last for the wicketkeeper-batter. Having said that, an old video has been resurfacing, where Sakshi Dhoni reveals the reason behind Dhoni’s Test retirement. It is worth noting that, the Ranchi-born cricketer retired from Test cricket in 2014.

Sakshi speaking to the anchor on a video for Chennai Super Kings, revealed that the reason for his retirement was their pre-planned baby Ziva. She also said that it was she who insisted Dhoni take out some time for family. She also revealed that the family had anticipated the retirement move and it was just a matter of time for the public to know.

“When he stepped down from Test cricket, we always had a hint that he was going to step down. I even remember telling him, ‘If you want a child you should step down from at least one format because you won’t have the time to enjoy with your child,” Sakshi said in a video for CSK.
