Flamboyant Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batter, Virat Kohli took to his social media handle to express his delight in watching seasoned batter Wriddhiman Saha’s blazing knock against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).

Notably, both Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants are squaring off in match 51 of the ongoing IPL 2023 at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Sunday’s first doubleheader. Upon winning the toss, LSG's stand-in skipper, Krunal Pandya decided to field first.

However, the decision seems to have backfired as Saha swiftly hit the ground running and carved out a blazing knock. The 38-year-old raced to his half-century off mere 20 balls which featured six fours and four maximums and also raised a vital partnership with opener Shubman Gill of 142 runs for the first wicket.

Impressed by the innings, swashbuckling right-handed batter Kohli took to his social media handle to share his delight in watching the seasoned batter.

"What a player!," captioned Kohli on his Instagram story.

The Titans wicketkeeper-batter has got 273 runs in his 11 outings thus far in the lucrative T20 competition. Hardik Pandya and Co. are well on course to cement their spot in the play-offs of the event considering their current form.

Defending champions eye playoff spot

Titans currently sit atop the IPL points table with seven wins in 10 matches and hold a solid Net Run Rate (NRR) of 0.752. Carrying their form from the previous edition, Hardik and Co. will be gunning to add a second title on the trot to their cabinet.

It is worth noting that Gujarat have always stamped their authority on each of the three occasions against Lucknow. The side will be gunning to add another win and secure a berth in the last four of the top-tier league.

The defending champions will lock horns with five-time IPL winners, Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on May 12 followed by matches against Sunrisers Hyderabad and their final group match against Royal Challengers Bangalore. On the other hand, Lucknow stand third on the ladder with 11 points and will aim for wins in their remaining fixtures to obtain a spot in the playoffs.
