As seen in the video, some of the prominent ‘lionesses’ of the franchise are seen grooving to the beats of the anthem. Following the splurging of cash in the bidding arena in February, Adani Group acquired the services of numerous top-draw cricketers ahead of the inaugural season.

Gujarat Giants versus Mumbai Indians in WPL opener

Speaking about the WPL curtain raiser, Mumbai Indians are all set to lock horns with Gujarat Giants at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in Mumbai on March 4. Considering the likes of Ash Gardner, Deandra Dottin, Annabel Sutherland, and Harleen Deol among others part of the side, Gujarat look terrific on paper.

However, it remains to be seen what transpires when the franchise takes the field and faces the heat against Mumbai Indians. Ahead of the season opener, skipper Beth Mooney opined that she along with the management will be working on how the side reacts to crunch moments in the game and work accordingly.

“It's the support staff that have been around and in touch with the girls. I have had a few discussions with Mithali (Raj, team mentor and advisor) as well. Will sit down with Noosh (al Khadeer, bowling coach) tomorrow and have a few discussions about the bowling group. For the first couple of games, I will be relying on their intel and see how the girls react in a game situation,” Mooney was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.
