The high-octane clash between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Women has got everyone hooked with some sensational twists in the tale in the ongoing Women's Premier League 2024 final clash. After winning the toss, DC skipper Meg Lanning won the toss and took advantage of the conditions up for offer early on. the hosts were off to a flier at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Sunday (March 17).

At one stage, Delhi were cruising well with the score quickly going past 50 runs but another Australian in the tournament in the form of Sophie Molineux had other ideas. After openers Lanning and Shafali dominated earlier, the willy left-arm spinner took matters into her hands and gave RCB a much-needed breakthrough. She dismissed the explosive Indian opener (44 off 27 balls) and then in a matter of next three balls, she ran into DC's batting lineup. The Aussie totally derailed the momentum and picked up wickets of Jemimah Rodrigues (0) and Alice Capsey (0) both on ducks in her sensational 3-wicket over.

Thereafter, the onus was on the experienced skipper Meg Lanning, but she failed to hold one end and soon after it was Shreyanka Patil who joined the party and trapped the former world champion in front of the stumps (LBW dismissal). Despite an early vigil under pressure, Lanning's knock ended on 23 runs in as many deliveries.
