Sourav Ganguly hosted a special team at Eden Gardens
Ganguly invited the entire star cast of the movie 'Cockpit'.
Sourav Ganguly hosted the stars of movie ‘Cockpit’ at the Eden Gardens during the second ODI between India and Australia. While Kuldeep Yadav and the Indian team were shining in the middle for the country, the movie team hogged all the limelight in the stands. They were invited by Ganguly himself being the president of Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB). India won the match by 50 runs and took a 2-0 lead in the series much to the delight of the fans.
The heartthrob of Tollywood Dev was accompanied by his co-stars Koyel Mullick and Rukmini Mitra. The entire star cast was found sitting at the C Block of the iconic Eden Gardens. The movie ‘Cockpit’ hit the silver screens on Friday across the country. The film directed by Kamaleshwar Mukherjee is produced by Dev Entertainment Ventures.
Virat Kohli is Dev’s favourite player
This was not the first time, the famous actor Dev had come to the stadium to watch a match. The last time he was seen at the iconic venue was during the ICC World T20 match between India and Pakistan. He is also a fan of the Indian skipper Virat Kohli.
“This is my second experience of watching an International cricket match live at the Eden Gardens. The first time I saw a match here was the World T20 match between India and Pakistan. I love watching him (Virat Kohli) bat. How can I miss watching two of the best teams in world cricket? “I have grown up in Mumbai. I used to play cricket at Shivaji Park when I was a kid. I just love the sport,” Dev told xtratime.in.
The actor also thanked Sourav Ganguly for inviting them to the stadium and supporting him in all his ventures. “I would be lying if I say I am not tense with the release of the film. Dada (Sourav) has supported me a lot in my venture. He was present during the music release of the film and has extended his support for the promotion of the film. He invited the entire star cast of Cockpit to watch the match,” he added.
It was not the first experience for actress Koyel Mullick either. “I remember coming with my father to watch a match here at the Eden Gardens. I do not exactly remember which match it was. I have been coming to Eden Gardens since my childhood days. I am invited quite some times by Shahrukh to watch KKR’s (Kolkata Knight Riders) home matches during IPL,” she said.
