South Africa forced to make 2 changes in the squad for Gandhi-Mandela series: South African all-rounder Albie Morkel has been recalled to the T20I side in the latest development of things here on Saturday. Morkel has replaced David Wiese in the squad for the T20Is against India as Wiese had suffered a hand fracture recently.

The other change in the squad is batsman Rilee Rossouw who has been ruled out of the entire limited-overs series due to a stress fracture to his foot. Batsman Khaya Zondo is the replacement announced for the ODIs.

Zondo an aggressive middle order batsman who was also a part of the South Africa A team that toured India will make his national debut in the series.

Albie Morkel made his debut for his country as early as in 2004, but couldn’t quite cement his place in the side being in and out of the team. The right arm fast medium bowler and left handed batting all rounder is well renowned in the cricket world for his exploits as a dangerous batsman capable of bludgeoning the best of bowlers.

Albie Morkel has been a regular face in the IPL and last played for the Delhi Daredevils in the last edition of the IPL. He played his last official T20 match in the match between Northerns and Easterns in Benoni in September 6. David Wiese rose to prominence after his stunning performance in the IPL for Royal Challengers Bangalore, but his injury unfortunately has cost him his place in the side.
