South Africa continued their dominance over the visiting Bangladesh side as they recorded a 10-wicket win in the 1st of the 3-match ODI series. The visitors recorded their highest ODI total of 278/7 against South Africa with help of an unbeaten 110-run knock from Mushfiqur Rahim. However, an unbeaten opening stand between Quinton de Kock and Hashim Amla saw the home side win the game with 7.1 overs to spare.

2 – Quinton de Kock’s 168* is his 2nd highest 150+ score in ODIs. He scored 178 against Australia while chasing last year. He is the 4th player after Sanath Jayasuriya, Shane Watson and Virat Kohli with two 150+ scores while chasing in ODIs.

5Shakib Al Hasan became the 5th player to complete 5000 runs and grab 200 wickets double in ODI cricket. He is the quickest to the double by taking only 178 matches. He is also the 2nd Bangladesh player after Tamim Iqbal to complete 5000 ODI runs.

26 – Hashim Amla became the quickest to score the 26th century in ODI cricket. He needed 154 innings for 26th ODI hundred, 12 innings less than the previous fastest Virat Kohli (166).

69 – Dane Paterson’s 69 runs in his nine overs are the 2nd most runs conceded by a South African player on ODI debut. Keshav Maharaj conceded 72 runs in ten overs on his ODI debut against England in May 2017.

110*Mushfiqur Rahim became the first Bangladesh player to score a century against South Africa and also the first from Bangladesh to score a hundred in South Africa in International cricket. His 110-run innings is the highest for a visiting wicketkeeper in ODIs in South Africa and the 2nd highest ODI score for a keeper-batsman against South Africa.

279 – South Africa’s successful chase of 279 runs with all wickets intact is the highest in ODI cricket for any team. England chased down 255 without losing a wicket against Sri Lanka last year.

279 – The 279-run chase by South Africa without losing a wicket in the highest for any team in List A cricket. Delhi chased down 275 runs against Punjab in 2008 with help of an unbeaten 277-run stand between Aakash Chopra and Shikhar Dhawan.

282* – The partnership stand of 282* between Hashim Amla and Quinton de Kock is the 3rd highest opening stand in ODI cricket. 286 between Sanath Jayasuriya and Upul Tharanga in 2006 and 284 by David Warner and Travis Head in January this year recorded higher stands for the opening wicket.

282* – Amla-de Kock’s 282-run stand is the highest for any wicket for South Africa in ODI cricket. Their previous highest was 256* between JP Duminy and David Miller for the 5th wicket against Zimbabwe in 2015 World Cup.

3664 – Amla and de Kock’s 3664 runs as a pair in ODIs are the most by a South African pair. They went past Amla and Graeme Smith pair who have 3607 runs between them in ODIs.
