South Africa vs Zimbabwe, 2nd T20I, Match Prediction: Who will win the match?
The stadium has only been a witness to a couple of T20I matches.
South Africa and Zimbabwe are set to lock horns in the second T20I tomorrow at Senwes Park in Potchefstroom. The first match in East London turned out to be pretty one-sided, albeit the Zimbabwean lower order put forth a sterling fight with some lusty hitting from the lower order. The Proteas would be looking to win tomorrow’s match and the series.
Zimbabwe, on the contrary, have to somehow roll their opponents over in order to stay alive in the three-match series. Their bowling troubled the Proteas batsmen to some extent but just couldn’t maintain the pressure on them. As a result, South Africa posted a substantial score and the target turned out to be a far cry for the visiting team.
Pitch
The pitch is expected to be good for batting and bowlers are set to be in for a tough day in the office. Albeit the venue has hosted a number of ODIs, the stadium has only been a witness to a couple of T20I matches. South Africa have played won the only match against Bangladesh they have played at Senwes Park. Teams are likely to bat first after winning the toss.
Team Combination
South Africa
The Proteas are set to bring in fast-bowler Dane Paterson in place of Imran Tahir, who has already been released from the squad. Apart from that, the rest of the lineup will be the same. The likes of Tabraiz Shamsi and Quinton de Kock, who didn’t do well in the last match, would want to do well. Gihahn Cloete and Rassie van der Dussen are expected to be persisted with.
Predicted XI
Quinton de Kock (wk), Gihahn Cloete, Faf du Plessis (C), Rassie van der Dussen, David Miller, Christiaan Jonker, Andile Phehlukwayo, Junior Dala, Dane Paterson, Lungi Ngidi, Tabraiz Shamsi
Zimbabwe
The visitors are set to rope in Tendai Chatara in place of Tarisai Chisoro. Chamu Chibhabha and captain Hamilton Masakadza are the opening batsmen. Brendan Taylor and Tarisai Musakanda are the men in the middle order. The batting has depth with the likes of Brandon Mavuta coming in at number eight. Chatara will partner Chris Mpofu in the fast bowling department.
