The meeting saw the Minister of Urban Development, Water Supply and Drainage of Sri Lanka Abdul Rauff Hibbathul Hakim speak to the Federal Minister for Climate Change Senator Mushahidullah Khan to discuss opportunities for mutual cooperation on water and climate change.
Over 700 other international and national delegates from 8 other South Asian nations attended the conference in Islamabad. At the meeting, the officials of Pakistan and Sri Lanka had a long discussion about how the two countries can work together to battle the ever increasing climatic change concerns.

However, they still face the crisis that emerges due to the climatic changes. The two nations agreed to work together to form international forums that would discuss the plans to spread awareness on the issue.
