It will be an understatement to say India dominated the Test series against Sri Lanka as they never looked down at any point of the series and ended all the matches of the series with a handful amount of time remaining. The only point of time in the series where Sri Lanka looked to come to the terms with India was in the 2nd half of the opening day of the 3rd Test but ended up by losing one of the biggest margins ever.

0 – Number of individual ducks for in the series for India. This is only the 5th Test series of 3 or more matches where no Indian batsman bagged a duck. Four of those are against Sri Lanka. The last such series was at home against Pakistan in 2005.
4.17 – India’s run rate of 4.17 in this series is the highest in a Test series where they aggregated over 1800 runs. Only three others teams had a better run rate in a Test series scoring more than India’s 1949 runs in this series.
10 – Number of Indians who scored fifty and more in an innings in this Test series; the joint 2nd most number of players with 50+ scores in a Test series. India had 12 players scoring 50 and more in a series against Pakistan in 1982/83.
24 – Number of sixes Indian batsmen have hit in this Test series; the 2nd most by them in a Test series. They hit 31 sixes in the 5-match Test series against England in the 2016/17 season.
37 – The 37 sixes hit in this series are the most in a Test series in Sri Lanka. The Sri Lanka-Australia series in 2004 had 29 sixes.
60.90 – Average runs India has scored per wicket in this Test series; only the 3rd series for India with a 60+ average per wicket and their best in an away series where they aggregated over 1800 runs.
190 – Dilruwan Perera’s bowling average of 190 in this series is the 5th worst for any player in a Test series. Perera conceded 380 runs and picked up only two wickets in the series. Harbhajan Singh has the worst as he conceded 355 runs in Pakistan, 2006 and failed to pick up a wicket.
1421 – Sri Lanka’s tally of 1421 runs in this series is their 4th lowest in a Test series at home. (Min: 6 team innings) Their lowest is 1119 vs Pakistan in 1985/86.
1949 – India’s aggregate of 1949 is their 2nd highest in a Test series where they played 4 or fewer innings. India scored 2206 runs in the home Test series against Sri Lanka in 2009.
