The Sri Lanka-India battle will move to the ODI format and the home side will want to put some fight at least in this series. To make a difference, they have brought back the veteran players while India decided to induce young blood and new faces as not more than 5 players who were a part of Test XI will be playing in the ODI series. The individuals on the either side will be seen reaching a couple of new milestones during this series.
Here we look at the approaching milestones of the players ahead of the Sri Lanka-India ODI series.
97 – Number of stumpings MS Dhoni has affected in his ODI career so far. Dhoni is only three stumpings away from becoming the first player to affect 100 stumpings in ODIs.
199 – Number of matches Lasith Malinga has played in his ODI career so far. He will become the 13th Sri Lankan to appear in over 200 ODI matches.
296 – Number of ODI appearances MS Dhoni has made in his career so far. He needs to feature in another 4 ODIs to become the 6th Indian and the 20th player to play in 300 ODI matches.
298 – Number of wickets Lasith Malinga has taken in his ODI career so far. He needs two more wickets to become only the 4th Sri Lankan and the 13th player overall to take 300 ODI wickets.
832 – Runs Danushka Gunatilaka has scored in his ODI career so far; he needs 168 more runs to complete 1000 ODI runs. Gunatilaka is three matches away from completing 100 appearances in List A.
3987 – Kedar Jadhav has scored 3987 runs in his List A career so far. He needs 13 more runs to complete 4000 List A runs.
4979 – Runs Chamara Kapugedara has aggregated in List A cricket so far; he needs 21 more runs to complete 5000 runs in this format.
7983 – Runs Rohit Sharma has scored in International cricket so far. He is just 17 runs away from becoming the 14th Indian with 8000 runs in International cricket.
9322 – Runs MS Dhoni has scored in ODI cricket while representing India. He scored 174 runs in the 3 ODIs he played for Asia XI. Dhoni is only 57 runs away from becoming the 4th highest run-getter in ODIs for India by going past Mohammad Azharuddin (9378).
