Sri Lankan team for the T20 series against Pakistan announced:

Sri Lanka is having a tough time dealing with the Pakistan team as the visitors have left no stone unturned and are continuing to dominate the hosts, by defeating them in all forms of cricket. Pakistan’s long tour of Sri Lanka will end soon with the final two matches, the T20 series to be held from 30th of July, for which the team has been announced.

The series has been a flop for the entire Sri Lankan team as they have managed only two wins till today, where the test series was won by Pakistan by 2-1 and the ODI series is yet to end with Pakistan leading with 3-1 with a game to play; which makes them the winner irrespective of the outcome of the final one-day that is to take place on 26th of July. It will be the last chance for the hosts to bring up their performance by at least taking over the T20 cup.

The team will be led by Lasith Malinga, who captained Sri Lanka to win the World T20 2014. This is the first time after winning the World cup that Sri Lanka will play a T20 on their home ground. The team has a bulk of young players, the most to watch out for is the experienced all-rounder Milinda Siriwardana, who has played 65 T20Is with an amazing strike rate of 137.71 with 31 wickets under his name, his best being 4/22.

Dhasun Shanaka is another all-rounder who has the strike rate of 136.49 with no wickets in T20. Shehan Jayasuriya has made his place in the squad as well the 25 matches old boy is a Left-handed batsman with 361 runs who also has a 20 wicket haul. The team has been well-balanced by all rounders as well as the part-time bowlers with decent figures, another one in the list is Chaturanga de Silva can work his way both with the bat and the ball.

Though, the presence of Jeffery Vandersay has put a question mark on the decision of the selectors taking in account his previous records. Binura Fernado’s presence will add a relief to the Sri Lankan side, with his amazing 17 wickets in 8 matches, his best being 4/26.
