Former Indian pacer S Sreesanth has had his share of infamy in the last four years. Ever since his alleged involvement in the IPL spot-fixing scandal in 2013, the Kerala pacer has been out of action on the field. He was banned for life by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Sreesanth along with the other accused were acquitted by the Delhi High Court of all the charges in 2015 but the board hasn’t changed its stance and hasn’t lifted the ban.

The pacer, however, was still optimistic about a return to the game in 2017. Recently, the reports had surfaced the media that claimed that Sreesanth is aiming a return to competitive cricket with the Scotland team. “I have got a good offer from a Scottish First Division club side. (It) depends on (if) BCCI gives me permission or not,” he had quoted in late December.

“As far as I remember, the ban for me was for not to play in BCCI tournaments and not to represent BCCI. Maybe, I will get an opportunity to play there. I not happy with the way BCCI has treated me. I am waiting to get (BCCI’s) permission to play club cricket,” he had added back then.

Earlier this month, the BCCI had maintained it’s stern stance against Sreesanth and refused to give the NOC to him to play in Scotland. An absolutely disheartened Kerala pacer has now shown his grief and frustration on the social media. The pacer recently took to micro-blogging site Twitter where he mentioned that none of his native state associations have banned him yet.

He also disclosed that the state association has not received any letter for his ban yet. He, thereby, gave a subtle hint that he is aspiring to get back to club cricket in Kerala. In his tweet, he wrote, “My kca or my ernakulam Distrcit association or my club team haven’t received any letter of my life ban or not allowing me to play..”
