Stats: AB de Villiers' run out in numbers
AB de Villiers has now been dismissed run out eight times in the ICC events.
AB de Villiers continued his horror show in the 2017 Champions Trophy as he followed his scores of 4 and his first ever golden duck in ODIs by getting run out against India in a must-win game. His dismissal also began a collapse for the South Africans as they went down from 140/2 in 29th over to 191 all out.
He now has a developed an unwanted reputation of failing in high-pressure games, especially in ICC tournaments that too in the form of soft dismissals and runouts. AB continued his trend today as the dive he made put in to save him as the No.1 batsman in ODI cricket had to depart for just 16 runs.
This was the 19th time AB de Villiers was run out in ODI cricket and his 3rd in the Champions Trophy. Adding his 4 runouts in the World Cups, this was his 7th run out dismissal in ICC ODI events and the 8th in ICC tournaments including one in the WT20s.
