Stats: Ben Stokes' boundary less innings in numbers
He broke Khaled Mashud’s record who faced 59 balls without scoring a boundary against West Indies in 2006.
While England struggled to score runs in the Champions Trophy semi-final against Pakistan at the Cardiff, their star all-rounder Ben Stokes failed to hit a single delivery to the fence even after batting for 64 deliveries in his innings. While wickets kept falling on the other end, Stokes decided to stay until the end and missed out on many scoring deliveries at the same time as he managed to score only 34 runs in those 64 balls.
England, who were looking to score 300 in the first half of their innings managed to post only 211 before being bowled out. The 64-ball innings by Stokes without hitting a boundary is the longest such knock in the Champions Trophy history.
