Rahane’s first games as captain in ODI and T20I formats too resulted in wins for India as he became the 2nd Indian after Virender Sehwag.
A shoulder injury to Virat Kohli gave a chance for Ajinkya Rahane to lead Indian team in Test cricket for the first time in his career. He turned his responsibility into a successful note by leading his side to a series win against Australia with calm composure captaincy. With this win, Rahane became only the 9th Indian captain to lead the team to a win on captaincy debut.
Rahane’s first games as captain in ODI and T20I formats too resulted in wins for India as he became the 2nd Indian after Virender Sehwag and only the 6th in overall to register a win in the first game as captain in all the 3 formats.

While Rahane had a triple winning start to his captaincy career, India’s current captain, Virat Kohli had a totally reverse start, losing in the first match as captain in each format, which he recorded during the recent England series.
