Stats: Lowest scores at the fall of the 5th wicket in ODI cricket

West Indies stooped to an all-time low in International cricket after their dismal start against New Zealand at Christchurch. After failing to win the first two ODIs in the series, Windies were reduced to chasing in the third and final ODI. New Zealand, batting first on the Christchurch pitch posted a total of 131 runs in 23 overs.

A partnership between Ross Taylor and Tom Latham put the Kiwis in such position. Windies had the firepower to chase such a total, with Chris Gayle and Chadwick Walton in the arsenal. However, they failed miserably yet again. It was a Boult and Henry show as the two pacers got the ball to swing and jump off the pitch.

The Windies batting line-up had no answers to the amazing bowling from the Kiwi duo. Matt Henry struck first as Chris Gayle gave a dolly to Colin Munro. The next two overs was a summary of the Windies tour, as they lost four wickets to Boult and Henry.

Windies were 9/5 at the back end of the fourth over in the innings. It was the joint-third lowest score at the fall of the fifth wicket in International cricket. Sri Lanka, yet again feature on the list and also at the top of the list. Batting against Bangladesh in 2009, Sri Lanka lost five wickets for just six runs while Canada who came second scored an extra run.

Sri Lanka once again featured on the list, as they lost their five wickets against South Africa in 2012 for nine runs. Windies tied the record as they lost five wickets for nine runs as well in the swinging conditions against New Zealand. Papua New Guinea is the last team on the list, as they scored ten runs while losing their top five wickets in the history of One-day Internationals.
