Stats: Smriti Mandhana's record hundred powers India women's team to a huge total
All the stats and numbers that were created during the Indian Women’s innings.
India Women continued their splendid show in the ODI format as they defeated the South African side by a huge margin in the first match on their tour and put on a huge score in the 2nd game. The star in the first match, Smriti Mandhana stood out for India once again with 129-ball 135 that included 14 fours and a six. Harmanpreet Kaur’s 55* and Veda Krishnamurthy’s unbeaten 33-ball 51 took India’s total to 302/3 taking closer to seal the 3-match ODI series.
All the cricket stats and numbers that were created during the Indian Women’s innings:
1 – Smriti Mandhana is now the first Indian Women to score three ODI centuries as an opener. Four other Indians scored two centuries while opening the innings.
1 – Mandhana scored the first century for Indian Women against South Africa in the ODI format. Her 84-run knock in the first ODI of this series was the previous best for India against South Africa in Women’s ODIs.
1 – Mandhana became the first visiting player to score an ODI hundred in Australia, England and South Africa. She scored her maiden ODI ton against Australia in Australia and her 2nd hundred in CWC 2017 against Windies in England.
3 – Number of centuries for Mandhana in ODI cricket. These are the joint 2nd most for an Indian Women in this format. Mithali Raj scored six ODI hundreds while Harmanpreet Kaur also scored three tons in the ODI format.
3 – Mandhana now has scored a century in the ODI format in Australia, England and in South Africa. She becomes the first Indian Women to score centuries in the ODI format in three different away countries. Mithali Raj scored ODI tons in three different countries including in India. No other Indian Women scored centuries in three away countries in any format.
4 – Indian innings contained fifty-plus stands for all the four wickets. This the 6th instance of four 50+ stands were recorded in a Women’s ODI innings and first such instance for India.
32 – Balls Veda Krishnamurthy needed for scoring her fifty in this game. This is the 2nd fastest fifty by an Indian in Women’s ODIs. Rumeli Dhar scored a 30-ball fifty against Sri Lanka in 2008. Krishnamurthy scored a 34-ball fifty against New Zealand in the 2017 Women’s CWC which was the 2nd quickest ODI fifty by an Indian Women.
135 – Smriti Mandhana’s 135 is the 2nd highest individual score in Women’s ODIs against South Africa in South Africa. Charlotte Edwards scored an unbeaten 138 in 2011 in Potchefstroom.
302/3 – India’s total of 302/3 is their 2nd 300+ total in Women’s ODI format. They scored 358/2 against Ireland in Potchefstroom last year. India’s previous highest total against South Africa in Women’s ODI cricket is 261/9 last year.
