Stats: Virat Kohli loses all 5 tosses in the Windies series
Thus, Virat Kohli became only the 4th Indian captain to lose all the tosses in a 5-match bilateral series.
Not often do we see a captain lose the toss having called the same side each time but Virat Kohli recorded the rare instance as the Indian captain called Tails at the toss in all the 5 matches of the ODI series against the Windies but the coin tossed by Jason Holder fell on the Heads’ side.
Thus, Virat became only the 4th Indian captain to lose all the tosses in a 5-match bilateral series. The last instance of India losing every toss in a 5-match bilateral ODI was in 2011 in England under MS Dhoni. Including the four 5-match bilateral series, India also lost tosses in two 3-match bilateral series and a 5-match series in 2006 in South Africa which was scheduled to be a 5-match series but the first ODI there was washed out without a toss.
