I will be taking a role with Middlesex CCC

The coach believes that it was a tough decision to relinquish up the job. “I have had to make the difficult decision to leave my role of Head Coach with CWI,” Law said in a press release on Monday. “It has been very enjoyable, and I believe we have made tremendous strides forward as a Team during the past 2 years.”

Being at the helm of things for last two years, Law saw his side register a Test win after 17 years in England, The team did lose out on a chance to qualify for the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 but made it to the 2019 World Cup after reaching the final of the ICC World Cup Qualifiers earlier this year.

The Australian-born former cricketer had made up his mind to spend the rest of his time in future with his family. “I will be taking a role with Middlesex CCC which will keep me close to my family, whilst continuing within the cricket family. I wish the players and staff of CWI every success in the future,” he remarked.

However, Johnny Grave, the CWI chief executive, expressed his disappointment with the resignation. “I am disappointed that Stuart is leaving as I believe that we have made real progress under his leadership. I know it was a difficult decision for him and that ultimately the opportunity to work in England, where his family is now based, was a major factor in his decision. We will start the process to appoint a new Head Coach immediately.”
