'Such an electrifying personality'- Kevin Pietersen lauds 'cool dude' Rashid Khan for brilliant performance in IPL 2022

Rashid Khan has had a wonderful IPL 2022 with both bat and ball so far. He has been one of the key reasons for the new entrants Gujarat Titans becoming the first team to seal a playoff berth in the ongoing season. In fact, his match-winning figures of 4/24 in the last game against the Lucknow Super Giants proved to be fruitful while his team was defending just 144.

Lately, former England skipper Kevin Pietersen has come forward and termed Rashid as an ‘electrifying person’. The cricketer-turned-pundit added that the Afghanistan spinner always delivers for his captain whenever he is entrusted with any responsibilities.

“You can’t keep the great guys down, he’s such an electrifying personality. He’s one of the cool dudes and he delivers whenever the captain looks at him. He’s just in the feel in this season. He’s a busy cricketer and keeps talking with the captain which is good to see,” said Kevin Pietersen while speaking on Cricket Live on Star Sports.

In the ongoing IPL 2022, Rashid has registered 15 scalps to his name in 12 matches at an average of 21.67 and an economy rate of 6.79. With the playoff spot already secured for Gujarat, the Afghan sensation would be hoping to pick up more wickets to his tally. The Gujarat Titans are up against Chennai Super King,  whose title defence came to an end after a five-wicket loss to arch-rivals Mumbai Indians recently.

CSK would be hoping to salvage pride by winning their remaining fixtures whereas GT would be aiming to finish the league stages on top of the points table. At the same time, the Hardik Pandya-led side would also be looking to do the double over the four-time champions, having got the better of them by three wickets in the reverse fixture.
