The Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) sports secretary and former manager of the Indian team Sunil Dev has rubbished allegations of accusing Indian limited-overs captain MS Dhoni for match fixing during the Manchester Test in England tour of 2014.

Earlier Dev’s accusation was caught in a sting operation done by a Hindi daily Sun Star alleging him accuse the Indian captain MS Dhoni of fixing the Manchester Test match during India’s tour to England in 2014 where they also went on to lose the series.
Dev has now tried to clear all the rumours as he spoke to the TOI, “It is all rubbish. I am planning to sue this Hindi daily and will seek legal recourse against anyone else who makes such malicious claims.”

Dev’s sting operation video was shown to mediapersons in Delhi on Sunday where he had said, “Given the condition of the pitch was wet due to long spell of rain, we had decided to bowl first in a team meeting. But Dhoni surprised everyone by opting to bat first.” The video was also audible without any major sound disturbance but there was no mention of fixing.

India had lost the Manchester Test match heavily by an innings and 54 runs during a series where they were humbled 3-1. The Indian team in recent times has often faced allegations of wrong end of controversy, from international cricket to the Indian Premier League (IPL). It remains to be seen if the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) chooses to clarify the matter.
