Lockie Ferguson turned out to be the hero for the Auckland Aces side in their encounter against the Central Districts. With his side needing 5 runs off just 2 deliveries, Ferguson smashed a six off the bowling of Joey Field to help the Aces seal the deal.
And, he repeated a feat that Trent Boult had accomplished a few days ago. With the Northern Brave side needing six runs off the final delivery, Boult had smashed Ed Nuttall over deep mid-wicket for a gigantic six to help his side to a sensational triumph over the Canterbury outfit.
And, the official handle of Spark Sport took to Twitter and posted a video of Ferguson smashing Field for a six. “Lockie Ferguson channels his inner Trent Boult,” read the caption on the tweet. You can see the video below.

Auckland Aces beat Central Districts by 4 wickets
The Auckland Aces posted their second win of the Super Smash tournament with a 4-wicket victory over the Central Districts outfit. The Central Districts wielded the willow first and posted a total of 168/5 on the board.
Grey Hay was the top scorer for the Districts side, and scored a classy 45-ball 57. In reply, it was the Martin Guptill show that helped the Auckland side chase down the target. The right-handed batting colossus smashed a quickfire 79* off 58 deliveries at the top of the order to set the tone for the chase.
Ben Horne also chipped in with a blistering 27, at a strike rate of 300, and in the end, Ferguson finished the match in style with a superb six that sailed over the fine leg fielder. While the Auckland side is now placed at the 4th spot in the points table, the Central Districts are occupying the 3rd spot.
