Suresh Raina shares heartwarming message for Chennai Super Kings
Suresh Raina and Murali Vijay have played together for five seasons
The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) had gone through a rough phase over the last couple of years. They were handed a suspension of two years, along with Rajasthan Royals, following their involvement in match-fixing scandals. However, they will make a comeback when they take the field against the Mumbai Indians in the eleventh edition of the Indian Premier League.
Suresh Raina has been a stalwart in the Chennai franchise for the opening eight seasons. He has been a prolific run-scorer for the team and has been a fulcrum of their batting lineup. However, following CSKs suspension, Raina moved to the Gujarat Lions where he captained the team for a couple of seasons. However, the Chennai franchise has retained the Uttar Pradesh cricketer in the auction.
Vijay and Raina back together in CSK
Meanwhile, Murali Vijay, the Tamil Nadu batsman, will also be making a comeback in the CSK franchise. He played from 2009 to 2013 in the Chennai franchise. However, the CSK released him and he was bagged by the Delhi Daredevils where he played the 2014 season. However, DD released him and he played three seasons for the Kings XI Punjab.
However, he was again left out by an IPL franchise, this time by Punjab. However, Vijay has rejoined his debut franchise as he has been roped in for INR 2 crores in the recently concluded auction. The deal also means that he will play with Suresh Raina in the franchise. He has previously been Raina’s teammate for five seasons. Meanwhile, Raina posted a photo of him along with Vijay.
He also posted a heartfelt message in Tamil which translates to: “My dear friend @Murali Vijay, lets do it well together in this IPL”. Both would also dearly to string some decent performances his belt and garner victories for their team.
