When T10 cricket was first played in 2017, it seemed a little outlandish idea. However, in just three to four years, the format has caught up with cricket fans across the globe. The T10 League was started by the Emirates Cricket Board in the year 2017 with six teams. The first edition was played just across four days with 13 matches overall. All the matches were played at the Sharjah Cricket Ground.
Several stars have been part of the tournament which helped the league garner many eyeballs. As the viewership and interest for the league were good, the organizers decided to make it an eight-team tournament ahead of its second edition. The second edition was also played in Sharjah.
However, the tournament was shifted to the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi for the third and fourth editions. Currently, eight teams are contesting in an eight-team tournament in Abu Dhabi in a tournament that will be played across nine days and have 26 matches.
