T20 World Cup 2021: 4 worrying signs for India ahead of the tournament
India will begin their T20 World Cup campaign against Pakistan on October 24.
3. Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan’s lean patch
The MI duo Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan were the stand-out performers during the IPL 2020. The pair’s runs in the middle-order gave power hitters like Kieron Pollard and Hardik Pandya to break free from the onset. This year the story has vastly been different as both the players have underperformed, which has led MI to struggle in the middle-overs and lose the plot.
Kishan has been dropped from MI playing XI, while the management has persisted with Yadav. It is pretty much evident that the duo needs some runs and confidence. The Indian management would be worried since they picked both the players based on their fearless approach and X-factor ability. KL Rahul is there as a middle-order backup but, the Indian management would be hoping Yadav and Kishan get back to run-scoring ways.
