The Super 12 stage of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 got underway with a low-scoring thriller. Australia and South Africa battled till the very last at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. However, the Men in Yellow just managed to cross the line, winning the game by five wickets. On the other hand, South Africa did put up a commendable fight with the ball. However, they still have many loopholes in the ship.

Speaking of how the game unfolded, the coin landed in Australia’s favour and they elected to bowl. The Aussie bowlers justified the decision by ripping apart South Africa’s batting order. The Proteas side somehow crawled to 118-9 thanks to a 40-run knock from Aiden Markram. Although the target wasn’t massive, the Aussies had a hard time.

Their top-order couldn’t do much either as South Africa were in the hunt till the very last moment. In fact, the Proteas seemed in command after the Aussies lost five wickets inside 81 runs. However, Marcus Stoinis and Matthew Wade played substantial cameos as Australia crossed the line with two balls to spare.

Meanwhile, here are the important stats and numbers from the Australia vs South Africa clash in T20 World Cup 2021:
