Australia and Sri Lanka are set to cross swords in Match No.22 of the T20 World Cup on Thursday, October 28 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai. The Aussies, led by Aaron Finch, started their campaign with a five-wicket win over South Africa and the win should keep their confidence high.

However, they will look to be a little more clinical with the bat in hand. The Lankans, led by Dasun Shanaka, on the other hand, defeated Bangladesh in their opening game on October 24 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. Moreover, they have won four games in a row and are yet to lose in the ongoing World Cup.

Pitch Report

The pitch in Dubai has played a tad indifferently at times. While at times, wickets have gone down at a brisk rate, runs have also flowed. But the track has helped the chasing teams to a significant extent. Chasing should remain the way forward for both teams.

Matches- 3, Sri Lanka – 1, Australia – 2, N/R- 0

Probable best batter of the match

David Warner (Australia)

David Warner is a class act and there’s very little doubt on the potential he has. But he has looked a tad out of sorts in recent times. He didn’t have great outings for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League. In the first game, he smashed three fours on his way to 14 before Kagiso Rabada dismissed him. The Lankans can’t afford to undermine him.

Probable best bowler of the match

Wanindu Hasaranga (Sri Lanka)

Wanindu Hasaranga has been a tough nut to crack in the ongoing edition of the T20 World Cup. In four matches, the leg-spinner has picked up six wickets at an impressive economy rate of 5.28. In the previous game, Hasaranga couldn’t get a scalp, but is expected to make a comeback. Not to forget that he is a more than handy batter.

Today’s match prediction: Australia to win the match.
