Tim Southee is one of the greatest pacers to have played for New Zealand. The legend has picked the most number of T20I wickets for his country as well. However, his form in the shortest format of the game hasn’t really been the best.

The Kiwi was last seen in a T20I series against Bangladesh earlier in 2021 where he took the most number of wickets in that series. However, despite that he struggled for consistency and was below average before that series. He was below average in the series against the Aussies even after a good game in the first T20I.

He tends to leak a lot of runs at the death. Southee’s overall numbers of late might be impressive but it’s his death bowling which is a concern. As he is expected to bowl at the death for NZ in the T20I World Cup, he needs to be a bit more consistent in that aspect of his game.
