Team India is having a merry time in South Africa at the moment. After a dismal start to the tour wherein they lost the first two Tests, the visitors have bounced back very strongly. They have dropped only one game thus far across the three formats of the game. They won the final Test and then went on to win the ODI series with a thumping margin of 5-1.

And now, team India has managed to take a 1-0 lead in the T20I series as well. So what has been pumping them to excel on the field? Well, in a direct response, one would wonder it is the good food that they have been eating. Along with this, the question arises, so what has the team been eating in the Rainbow nation?

Interestingly, as per the reports in the Sportswallah, team India has been asking for typical Indian food on the tour. Chicken is a hot favorite among the players and Chicken Rezala is the dish the team loves to eat. It is a Bangladeshi traditional dish which has Mughlai influence.

While there are fans of chicken, there are fans of Lamb as well. Lamb Seyal is another dish which is loved by the Indian team. The lamb curry is cooked with cardamom, chilli, and caraway seeds. There is no water added during the preparation of this dish.

Vegan delights

The Indian team has quite a lot of North Indians. Hence, the Punjabi dish ‘Dal Makhani’ is a common one as well on the team table. It is the mixed lentil curry made with a lot of butter and cream. There are a few vegan delicacies as well. Aloo Gobhi (Potato and Cauli Flower) is another Indian subcontinental dish which is loved by the Indian team members.

Similarly, even the cottage cheese dish named ‘Palak Paneer’ is liked by many. Cottage cheese is prepared with the spinach paste. And in the sides t go along with these dishes, there is always the evergreen Butter Naan.

Naan bread is made from basic bread ingredients like wheat flour, yeast, salt, and butter or ghee. In addition to this, the Basmati variety of rice is preferred by the players. Certainly, team India is eating together and staying together!
