'Team ke log change karo, logo nahi' - Fans hilariously troll RCB after they unveil their new logo
The Virat Kohli-led side has never been short of star power over the years but the franchise has flattered to deceive on numerous occasions.
Royal Challengers Bangalore may not have a single Indian Premier League title in the history of the cash-rich league but it is fair to say that they are one of the most followed franchises in the IPL. The Virat Kohli-led side has never been short of star power over the years but the franchise has flattered to deceive on numerous occasions. Since finishing as the runners-up in the 2016 edition, the Bangalore-based has finished with a wooden spoon twice in the past three seasons.
But that hasn’t fazed RCB one bit. After having taken down their profile pictures and photos from their Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts, fans as well as former and current cricketers were worried as to what was going on with the franchise social media handles.
But, it seems like RCB are bracing for a new decade with a new logo. The franchise had been hyping up the drama in the past few days with the likes of Virat Kohli, Mike Hesson, Yuzvendra Chahal and AB de Villiers wondering where the profile pictures and all the photos from their social media accounts disappear.
The mystery was finally unveiled on Friday when the Bengaluru-based franchise unleashed its newly designed logo. “New Decade, New RCB, and this is our new logo #PlayBold.” Royal Challengers Bangalore Twitter handle wrote while making the announcement.
Fans not happy with the new RCB logo
Speaking at the launch of the new logo, Sanjeev Churiwala, Chairman of RCB, said, “The idea behind the design of the new brand identity to give our rampant lion a contemporary makeover. The elements in the logo is a commitment to continuously entertain and engage with fans who are the force behind Royal Challengers Bangalore.”
“We believe a change in identity for the club was necessary to effectively live and breathe this vision and celebrate the passion for cricket and playing bold,” he added.
That said the new logo that the RCB unveiled on Friday has not gone down well with the fans. While some alleged that they have copied the logo while others hilariously trolled them, asking them to change the players not their logo.
