Team Wise leading run scorers in Test Cricket

6. Alastair Cook (England) – 9822 Runs:

The current England Test skipper has recently surpassed Graham Gooch’s tally of 9822 runs to become the leading run-scorer for England in Test cricket. While playing a Test series against India Cook broke the record for most centuries for England in the longest version- 23 and became the first captain to score a century in each of his first five Test matches in charge. He also became the youngest batsmen to reach 8000 runs in Test Cricket, 21 days younger to Sachin Tendulkar.
