Undoubtedly he is the best player for England in tests with 9,000 runs with a staggering average of 46.87. <p>Super cat, Clive Lloyd was the skipper of the mighty West Indian side which won back to back World cups in 1975 and 1979. He has led his team to an incredible 64 wins in just 84 matches and holds the record for the best win percent of 77.71 as a captain. He shares the record of winning the World cup twice as a captain. Lloyd was an elegant batsman and also the first West Indian to play 100 international matches.</p>

<p>Arjuna Ranatunga, with an impressive 89 wins finds his place in this list as the best Sri Lankan captain. He was instrumental in transforming an under power Sri Lankan team to a World cup winning side. Ranatunga’s innovative ideas such as scoring loads of runs in the first 15-overs of field restrictions by deploying Jayasuriya as the aggressor changed the way the game was played. He was an exceptional batsman scoring 7,456 runs and has also managed to pick 79 wickets in ODI.</p>

<p>The South African, Hansie Cronje has been a terrific captain for the Proteas despite his controversial career. Under his captainship the Proteas have won 99 in 138 games with an extraordinary win percent of 73.70 making him the best South African captain of all time. Cronje’s career ended in a tragic way as he was banned due to match-fixing scandals and he kicked the bucket in a plane crash in 2002.</p>
