Indian cricketer Jemimah Rodrigues is set to miss the remainder of The Hundred Women’s 2022 edition due to a fractured wrist. Ireland international Gaby Lewis has been named as replacement. Rodrigues was with the Northern Superchargers and started the season with a brilliant 51 off 32 against Oval Invincibles. The 21-year-old was dismissed for just two runs in the next encounter while her team completed their first victory of the season.

Rodrigues is among the three Indians cricketers participating in The Hundred Women’s 2022 edition alongside Smriti Mandhana and Deepti Sharma. The right-handed batter was the top scorer for the Northern Superchargers in the previous edition with 249 runs in seven innings at a healthy strike rate of 151.

Rodrigues was in great form during the recently concluded Commonwealth Games 2022 edition in Birmingham and played a big part in India reaching the finals. She finished with 146 runs to her name in five innings at an average of 73 which included a crucial fifty.

She has so far played 21 ODIs and 58 T20Is for India and has got ten international half-centuries to her name. She has been seen as the future of the side and will be key to success in the upcoming international assignments. Her form has been up and down and she will have to work on it for consistent opportunities at the top level.

Meanwhile, Northern Superchargers pulled off a thrilling win against London Spirit in Match 5 of The Hundred Women’s 2022 edition. Alyssa Healy started well at the top and Bess Heath’s 34-ball 57 helped the Superchargers post a competitive total of 127 on the board. In reply, the London Spirit fell short by five runs despite Beth Mooney and Sophie Luff getting to good starts with Alice Davidson-Richards turning the game around with a good spell for the Northern Superchargers.
