The tallest bowlers in World Cricket

In the game of cricket, we have seen majority of the bowlers to be tall, some are monstrous with huge frames, and there have been lanky ones too. What stays common is the height factor. A bowler who is tall has the advantage of his height, he can bowl really fast and the ball coming from a considerably more height will have a better impact.

Here we bring along the list of the 10 most tallest fast bowlers who have taken the cricket field. Also at the bottom you will find mention of those tallies that stand out with their height’s but could not make it to the top ten.

We had seen some really tall fellows in cricket in those olden days with the likes of Curtly Ambrose, Courtney Walsh bowling for the West Indies. Tom Moody the big tall guy from Australia also fell in their league. But, non can match this guy Mohammed Irfan who made his debut for Pakistan in 2010 standing 7 feet 1 inch tall. He has remarkable height and is very quick with his bowling.

Spinner’s unlike pacer’s though don’t need comparable pace in their bowling, but a good height helps them extract bounce from the pitch as well as give the ball that much more revolutions. Suileman Benn is the only spinner who is included in this league of tall cricketers which is otherwise ruled by faster bowlers.

There are four from the West Indies, a few new names taking the legacy of their legends forward. Three from England and two from Australia down under; there is no Indian though in the top 10 but two eventually make their way into this unique collection of fast-bowlers with their heights’ as per cricket records available to us.
