Pakistan batter Kamran Akmal has declined any rivalry between him and Gautam Gambhir despite their heated exchange on the field in the 2010 Asia cup. Both the cricketers have never had second thoughts to voice out their emotions and they happened to indulge in a spat a decade ago. Apart from Gambhir, Kamran had a similar kind of altercation with speedster Ishant Sharma in Bengaluru in 2012-2013 and such has been the intensity of the India-Pakistan rivalries.

Gambhir has retired from international cricket and is currently part of the expert views panel while Kamran at 40 is yet to announce his retirement. The wicketkeeper batter is actively participating in the ongoing Pakistan Super League for the Quetta Gladiators and he had to miss out on the first few games after testing positive for Covid-19.

Gambhir is a good person: Kamran Akmal

Akmal in a recent chat with the Legends League Cricket Instagram handle had revealed his relationship with Gambhir and noted the latter to be a ‘good person’. He added that he doesn’t have any kind of rivalry with Gambhir, Harbhajan, or Ishant and explained that it happened in just the heat of the moment.

“I don’t think I have any rivalry with both of them. It happened due to a misunderstanding. It happened. I had a misunderstanding with Gautam in Asia Cup. He is a good person and a good cricketer too. We have played together with A-team. So, there is no rivalry. Seriously, there is nothing” Kamran told on Legends League Cricket’s (LLC) Instagram handle

“Even with Ishant Sharma, I don’t have any rivalry. Whatever happened in Bengaluru”, he added

Kamran has represented Pakistan in 53 Tests, 157 ODIs, and 58 T20I games since making his debut in international cricket in 2002 and has played a lot of useful knocks. He has scored 11 international centuries so far and last played for the country in 2017. He has been in good form in the PSL 2021 and has been expecting a recall into the side any time soon. India and Pakistan will lock horns again in T20 World Cup 2022 at the famous Melbourne Cricket Ground on October 23.
