The Indian team has landed in West Indies and will start the campaign against the WICB Board President’s XI from July 9. Ahead of the series the Indian team has been having a lot of fun and sweating it out as well to ensure they are well prepared to challenge the home team.

Coach Anil Kumble wants to leave no stone unturned and was quite evident in the diverse training camp that he organized at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore. With Kumble at the helm, it will be interesting to see how he manages Ravichandran Ashwin and his roles in the bowling attack.

Ashwin though the best Indian spinner has been splendid at home but has had little impact when playing overseas. Former India skipper Sourav Ganguly on Friday said that Ashwin would be key to India’s success in tour.

Ganguly on the occasion of his 44th birthday said at his residence in Kolkata. “I think Ashwin will be the key in West Indies,”

Though West Indies haven’t had the best of Test records in the last couple of years but having won the World T20 2016 in India and finishing as runners-up in the recently concluded Tri-series featuring Australia and South Africa should have given the team a lot of confidence.

Dada also accepted the fact that the hosts are in good form but feels that the Indian team will be able to beat them. “They are looking stronger and in the middle of a fine form. But I think India have the side to beat them. I wish luck to (Virat) Kohli and (Anil) Kumble,” Sourav Ganguly added.
