'This gave me a laugh'- Mitchell Johnson takes a dig at Virat Kohli for his "Dikhadunga" statement
India lost their first Test series since ICC Test Championship came into existence.
Mitchell Johnson and Virat Kohli share a strong rivalry between each other for long. It all began back in 2014 during a Test series. And, when the Indian skipper is currently facing heavy criticism for his statements after losing the Test series against New Zealand, the former Aussie international took the opportunity to troll him.
India suffered a whitewash in the recently concluded Test series against New Zealand. There is no doubt over the fact that the BlackCaps outclassed the visitors with sheer dominance. The Men in Blue suffered a defeat by a margin of 10 wickets in the series opener followed by their next defeat in Christchurch by seven wickets.
After the horrendous series, the Men in Blue had to face the heat of the fans due to their poor performance. But one player that was brought under the scanner was Virat Kohli, who used some abusive language during the match after the dismissal of Kane Williamson. Later on, he chanted ‘Shut the F**k up’ pointing towards a section of the crowd in Christchurch.
Mitchell Johnson takes a dig at Virat Kohli once again
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli was also heard saying that, “Jab India mein yeh log aayengey, tab dikha doonga (When they will come to India, we will show them).” This statement came after India suffered a defeat in Christchurch game. As soon as this news came under the radar of former Aussie pacer Mitchell Johnson, he came out with an unpleasant reply. He took to his official Instagram handle and updated a story with a screenshot of the same news and wrote, “This gave me a laugh.”
It is a well-known fact that Mitchell Johnson is not a big fan of Virat Kohli’s aggressive behaviour and he gave another proof for the same. Actually the cold war between former player and Indian skipper began in 2014 when India was involved in a Test series against Australia. In one of the Tests, Johnson had infamously thrown a ball at Kohli’s body. Later, the Indian skipper smacked him for boundaries. Since then, here and there, the former player always comes out taking a dig over one of the current best batsmen in the world cricket.
